Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Duval County Criminal History. Opening a page, reading its material, or submitting a query means that the visitor accepts the terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Duval County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, Texas, or federal government body. Neither the website nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The material helps readers locate criminal-record resources in Duval County, Texas. The site is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of all government offices. It does not store official criminal records, obtain records for a visitor, perform an official background check, or file documents.

The published material identifies the Duval County Sheriff's Department, county and district courts, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry as official record channels. Some pages also connect readers with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on the following restrictions. A visitor must not:

  • Use automated bots or scrapers against the pages
  • Interfere with service or prevent another visitor from using it
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
  • Rely on site content for housing, hiring, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Violate any local, Texas, or federal law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from the website or any linked service may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate the law. Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data demands particular care under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62. It is provided for public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Duval County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Its advertising partners are not presented as providers for applicant screening, rental decisions, insurance pricing, or credit decisions. Data from the website or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Set an insurance rate or judge creditworthiness
  • Screen a renter or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally permissible official check should be obtained through the Texas Department of Public Safety or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

The website does not give legal advice. General information about Duval County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, expunction, or nondisclosure law applies to a particular situation. Consult a licensed Texas attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

All material is supplied "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • A partner's search results will be complete or correct
  • The website will remain available without interruption
  • Every page is free from defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • Published information is always current, accurate, or complete

Criminal records can change when charges are filed or dismissed and when a court grants an expunction or nondisclosure order. Gaps and delays can occur. Website content is never an official statement from the Duval County courts, the Sheriff's Department, DPS, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to Duval County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, legal resources, and outside search services. Those sites are separately operated. Duval County Criminal History does not control their content, privacy practices, prices, accuracy, or availability. Review the destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, logos, graphics, and code belong to Duval County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is not liable for damage arising from its use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to hold the site harmless from claims, demands, or legal actions caused by that visitor's use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms, including applicable consumer protections. Texas Government Code Chapters 552 and 411 separately govern public information and criminal-history dissemination by government custodians. Any dispute tied to use of the website must be filed in a Texas court with proper jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain effective. The affected language is adjusted only to the degree needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be sent through the Contact page.
