A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies any result. Duval County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

An email may be retained long enough to review it and respond. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Duval County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies records held by the Duval County Sheriff's Department, the Duval County clerks and courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not turned into consumer reports or personal files about other people.

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, so review its terms before entering a query.

Texas Government Code Chapters 552 and 411 govern access to government information and dissemination of criminal-history information. They do not turn this private website into a Duval County records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

- Request correction of inaccurate retained information
- Request deletion where no legal retention duty applies
